On behalf of the Scientific Advisory Committee, I wish to invite you to Helsinki to attend the 7th European Congress on Epileptology.
The Scientific Advisory Committee, is working to create a scientific programme which we are confident will offer a rich forum for research developments and the exchange of ideas between basic scientists, researchers and clinicians in all areas of Europe.
<*dv_2*>The Scientific structure of the programme will comprise four main topics, whichhave been carefully selected by the Committee to ensure a basic balance is achievedin the overall programme for the congress. The Main Topics which will providea guideline theme for the entire meeting are Epileptogenesis, seizuresand epilepsy, New concepts in pharmacotherapy, Brainmaturation in epilepsy evolution and Brain imaging from moleculesto networks.
Added to the main session topics, will be a comprehensive programme of Discussion Groups, Workshops and Teaching Sessions. Of course, a large part of the programme will be dedicated to platform and poster presentations, which will present researchers with an opportunity to present their most recent work. I would encourage you to begin the task of preparing your latest work for submission later this year.
I look forward to welcoming you to Helsinki for what promises to be a meetingof excellent quality. A meeting, which I hope, will provide an opportunity forus all to increase our knowledge of epilepsy, thereby facilitating the achievementof our common goal of improving the quality of the life for epilepsy patientsin all areas.
